Picy Tava Idlis
A spicy recipe guaranteed to polish off left-over idlis inspired by the famous pav-bhaji. Preparation time : 15 min. Cooking time : 15 min. Serves/Makes : Serves 4. Ingredients 4 leftover idlis, cut into cubes 1 onion, chopped 2 tomatoes, chopped 1 teaspoon grated ginger 1 teaspoon turmeric powder (haldi) 1/2 teaspoon black salt (sanchal) 1/4 teaspoon pao bhaji masala 1 teaspoon lemon juice 1 tablespoon butter 1 tablespoon oil salt to taste For the garnish 2 tablespoons chopped coriander Method 1. Heat the oil and butter together, add the onions and fry till they soften. 2. Add the tomatoes, ginger and turmeric powder and cook till the oil separates. 3. Add the black salt, pao bhaji masala, salt and lemon juice and mix together. 4. Toss in the idlis and mix well. 5. Serve hot garnished with the coriander. Contributed by simran@karadmail.com |
